Objectives
ETAC's mission is to help companies increase productivity, improve
energy efficiency and achieve and maintain environmental compliance.
ETAC believes that the key to pollution prevention and energy efficiency
(P2E2) is employing new technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency
and effectiveness. The staff at ETAC introduces
businesses to technologies
and production methods that will ultimately reduce production costs
and improve the bottom line.
Through support from Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental
Production (DEP), ETAC strives to offer reasonable costs for confidential
services and helps clients seek out grants and other funding sources
to help pay for projects. The DEP Grant will fund up to 70% of the
cost of any ETAC project performed that reduces volatile organic
compound (VOC) emissions.
ETAC was created in 1994 through a partnership between Northampton
Community College and
Pennsylvania Power and Light Company with the goal of helping manufacturers.
After five years, the partnership with the Pennsylvania Power and
Light Company was not renewed ETAC is now wholly owned by
Northampton Community College. ETAC has assisted several hundred
companies throughout the state and the country-and presently serves
more than 100 companies each year.
